Oil sands country: Remote region at the heart of the Keystone controversy

PetroChina has purchased a large ownership of the oil sands in Canada. The oil is to be sent to a tax-free zone in TX for refining and shipped to China. The US will absorb much of the environmental damage and profits will go to the oil companies and China. Google it if you are interested.

The Keystone line may be moot. Pipeyards have been built and plans are already in progress to by-pass it running the Flanagan South Pipeline 36" line from IL through MO to OK. Here's info

Yes, the "national" nightly news definately overdid it! Our mid-west "national" news ended up being ONLY east coast local news.
